CHETRA is one of the technically leading international specialists for sophisticated mechanical seals and equipment for complex applications. For more than 40 years CHETRA represents highest safety, competence and individuality.

The field of activity extends from Germany to over 50 countries. Our customers are supported worldwide by 7 factory offices and 40 representatives. For maintenance and repair of the mechanical seals we provide 6 seal service centres.

CHETRA is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001.

Our History

Foundation (1979)

1. Foundation of CHETRA GmbH by Dipl-Ing. (FH) Hans J. Rabl in Munich
2. Engineering office; sealing technology products were manufactured by suppliers in CHETRA's own design
3. Product areas: mechanical seals, packings and technical maintenance products
Joint Venture Hungary (1983)

Foundation of the joint venture CHETRA-Budapest Kft in Budapest (Hungary)
Market & Industry Specialization (1984)

1. Production of mechanical seals and packings in Garching (near Munich)
2. Market specialisation: high-quality mechanical seals and customer-specific special solutions
API mechanical seals (1990-2000)

Based on the experience with high quality mechanical seals, the construction of API-GLRD was pushed forward. This was done in close cooperation with a well-known German refinery, a petrochemical factory and an OEM for pipeline pumps.
Expansion to Singapore (2004)

Foundation of CHETRA Sealing Technology Pte. Ltd (CST) in Singapore
Intensification in Middle East (2005)

Activities in the Middle East & Far East were intensified, which led to further applications in the Oil & Gas sector, especially for pipeline pumps, WIP (Water-Injection-Pumps), and MOL (Main-Oil-Line) pumps.
Expansion to India (2012)

Foundation of the CHETRA Mech. Seals India Pvt. Ltd in Mumbai (India)
New Headquarter (2012)

In 2012 CHETRA GmbH was able to move into its new headquarter, while remaining to its Munich location
Foundation of a stock corporation (2012)

Change of the legal form of the company into a public limited company:

Joint Venture India (2015)

Formation of a joint venture company in India with Mascot Dynamics/Mumbai and CHETRA Mechanical Seals India Pvt.Ltd.
Development of a redundant supply system

2017/2018 CHETRA developed a redundant supply system for double acting mechanical seals.
Service Center Essen (2018)

Foundation of a service center, in an industrial region close to our customers.
development of big size mixer and agitator mechanical seals

2018/2019 CHETRA enhanced its agitator and mixer mechanical seals. Now we' re able to deliver mechanical seals for wave diameter over 300mm.
